 2 tbsp olive oil
 5 ½ cups chopped onions
 3 garlic cloves, minced

 1 can (29 ounces) tomato sauce

 1 tbsp dried basil
 2 tsp salt
 ½ tsp pepper

 4 l eggs, lightly beaten
 2 cups soft bread cubes (cut into 1/4-inch pieces)
 5 ½ cups whole milk
 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
