More About The Air Fryer Apple Chip Snack Recipe
Making your own apple chips is extremely easy—even without a fancy dehydrator.
Best apple varieties
Pick an apple on the crisper side to make these, like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady. Avoid softer, mealier apples like Red Delicious or Fuji—they just don't crisp up the same way.
Slice 'em thin!
Slice the apples as thinly as you can into rounds, around 1/8" thick. We like using a mandoline to get thin and even slices, just use caution. If you don't have a mandoline, use the sharpest knife you have and (carefully) slice as thin of slices as possible. The thinner the slice, the better the crisp.
Got an air fryer?
Use it! It'll produce extremely crispy chips in much less time than your oven. But don't worry if you don't, a low oven works just as well; it'll just take a few hours.
Storage
Store your apple chips in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Preheat oven to 200°. In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar and cinnamon.
Place a metal rack inside a rimmed baking sheet. Lay apples slices on top of rack, spacing them so that no apples overlap.
Bake for 2 to 3 hours, flipping apples halfway through, until apples dried out but still pliable. (Apples will continue to crisp while cooling.)
In a large bowl toss apples with cinnamon and sugar. Working in batches, place apples in a single layer in basket of air fryer (some overlap is okay).
Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes, flipping every 4 minutes.
